WG A3.15 Non-Conventional Instrument Transformers (NCIT's)

The technological progress in the last decade in Information Technology and Electronics has led to important changes in substation layout:
• substations are tending to become increasingly compact
• data transmission is becoming digital.
Non conventional current and voltage transformers with compact dimensions and digital outputs are naturally finding a place in these new substation architectures. The Working Group should study three different aspects with respect to NCITs: Primary sensors, Testing and calibration and Communication.
